Real Estate Templates
Buying or selling property without a full-service agent puts the paperwork on you, and a purchase agreement is the document that decides who carries which risk until closing. Deposits, financing and inspection deadlines, title and survey rights, mandatory disclosures and the closing date all have to be stated precisely, and several of those requirements come from statute rather than custom. A clause that would be routine in one state can be missing a disclosure that another state requires by law.
These templates are written for a named state or province. Each lists the disclosures that law requires, sets out the deadlines in a form both parties can check, and explains in plain guidance notes what each clause does. Shaded fields mark everything you need to complete, and the guidance notes come out before signing.
Have a real estate lawyer or closing agent review any agreement before you sign it, especially where financing, a tenancy or an unusual property is involved.
