Personal Finance Templates

Personal finance paperwork matters most at big moments: buying a first home, applying for a loan, settling a family arrangement or preparing a tax return. Lenders and tax authorities ask for documents in specific forms. A mortgage lender, for example, will not accept a gift toward a down payment without a signed letter confirming the gift is not a loan and showing where the funds came from, and insurers and regulators set their own conditions on those gifts.

The templates in this category are written to the requirements of the lender, insurer or authority that will receive them. They contain the statements those reviewers look for, with guidance notes explaining why each statement is needed and what supporting documents usually go with it. Shaded fields mark what to fill in.

Lenders often have their own form. Ask your lender or broker which version they want, and use this template when they accept a letter or have no form of their own.
