Immigration and Travel Templates

Visa officers decide applications on the documents in front of them. When an application asks for a letter of invitation, a consent letter or a statement of support, the government usually publishes what that letter should contain: the host's status and address, the purpose and length of the visit, who pays for what and how the visitor will be accommodated. A letter that leaves out those details gives the officer less reason to approve.

The templates here are written to the published requirements of the government department that will read them. Each letter contains every item that department lists, in a clear and factual layout, with guidance notes explaining what supporting documents usually go with it and how to sign it. Shaded fields mark the details to complete.

An invitation letter supports an application; it does not guarantee a visa. Be accurate, attach the supporting documents the department asks for, and keep a copy of everything you send.
