Hiring and Employment Templates
Employment documents carry legal weight from the first day. Job postings in some provinces and states must now disclose pay ranges and other details, employers must give new hires specific written information before or when they start, and the terms in an offer letter or contract are read strictly against the employer if they are unclear or fall below the statutory minimum. A termination clause that fails to meet employment standards can be struck out entirely, leaving the employer facing much larger common law notice.
Every template here is written for a named jurisdiction's employment standards legislation. It includes the information the law requires the employer to provide, states pay, hours, vacation and probation correctly, and explains each clause in a short guidance note. Shaded fields mark what to complete.
Employment law changes often. Check the date each template was last reviewed, and have an employment lawyer review contracts with restrictive covenants or termination clauses.
