Farming and Agriculture Templates
Much of North America's farmland is rented, often on a handshake between neighbours. A written lease prevents the common disputes: which fields are included, how rent is calculated, who pays for fertilizer, who controls weeds, what happens with crop insurance and government program payments, how the land must be left, and how much notice ends the arrangement. Provinces and states also have rules on registration, notice and the rights of tenants that a lease should respect.
The templates in this category are written for a named jurisdiction's agricultural and property law. Each lease sets out the land by legal description, the term, cash or crop share rent, input and cost sharing, conservation obligations, access and termination, with guidance notes explaining the local rules and the choices most landowners and tenants face. Shaded fields mark what to complete.
Walk the land together before signing, record its condition with photos, and attach a map of the leased fields to the agreement.
