Event and Venue Templates

Renting out a hall, studio or outdoor space for an event raises the same questions every time: what is included, how many people may attend, who serves alcohol and under what permit, who is responsible for damage, cleaning and security, and what happens if the event is cancelled. Liquor licensing, occupancy limits and insurance requirements come from law, not just from the venue's preferences, and a rental agreement that ignores them can leave the venue owner exposed.

The templates here are written for a named province or state. Each agreement covers booking and payment terms, deposits, permitted use, alcohol, capacity, insurance, damage, cancellation and the venue's rules, with guidance notes explaining where local law sets the requirement. Shaded fields mark what to complete for each booking.

Ask every renter for proof of event insurance and any required permit before the event date, and attach copies to the signed agreement.
